ABOUT US

 

The Black Cat Bar has been a part of Seligman since the early 1900’s, is still World Famous and going strong today. The original name was Jolly’s Café named after then owner Maude Jolly, its home near the railroad tracks of Seligman then becoming a Bar just at the end of prohibition in 1934. It is the holder of the; the 4th oldest Class 6 Liquor License of Arizona. With a location move to a building built directly in front of its present home on RT. 66 with the name change to the Black Cat Buffet.

 

Its present home was built in 1963 where it stands today known as the World Famous Black Cat Bar. The Black Cat has become an internationally recognized and highly acclaimed destination place for travelers of RT 66 from Foreigners to Bikers, Cowboys, Railroad Workers, Truck Drivers, Travelers & Friends new and old any and all of just those that want to get out of the city and enjoy the rural life style of Seligman.

 

With all that aside, we invite you to belly up to the bar, make a friend and enjoy a cold one. Take a look back in time and enjoy the days and tales of yester years with the many memories made over the past century you might hear from a local.

 

When people ask, “Where’d ya get dem red eyes?” ... you just tell them at the World Famous Black Cat Bar .
